Vetešnictví Petra Hapky
The concert project *Vetešnictví Petra Hapky* pays tribute to the music and legacy of one of the most distinctive composers of film and popular music on the Czech scene. It figuratively transports the audience to Petr Hapka’s legendary garage in Okoř, a space filled with objects, memories, and inspirations from which his work sprang. Together with the performers, listeners have the opportunity to experience his poetic style and discover well-known and lesser-known songs from the 1960s and 1970s, originally sung by the rising stars of Czech pop music at the time, led by Karel Gott, Hana Hegerová, Hana Zagorová, Karel Zich, and others. The evening’s performances will be led by prominent figures from the Czech and Slovak music scenes. Regular guests at Vetešnictví include Michal Malátný, Kateřina Marie Tichá, Jitka Čvančarová, Petra Hapková, Hana Holišová, Sára Milfajtová, Lenka Nová, Jan Maxián, Dušan Kollár, Petra Hřebíčková, Jan Sklenář, and others. Haštal Hapka is responsible for the dramaturgy, arrangements, and musical direction.
