Alternativa meets Heartnoize: Grouper + Alpha Maid
**Grouper, the project of American musician Liz Harris, is one of the most prominent names in contemporary ambient and experimental music. Her work weaves together a veiled voice, guitar blurred within lo-fi textures, and subtle sonic details into intimate compositions that blend melancholy, alienation, and delicate lyricism. Although her music often feels elusive and dreamlike, it is built on strong song structures that have earned her a unique standing across the alternative scene.** As part of the curated evening Alternativa meets Heartnoize, Grouper will perform on October 30, 2026, at the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude. She will return to Prague for the first time since 2009, when she performed here shortly after the release of the now seminal album *Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill*. Since then, she has released a number of other recordings, including the album *Shine* (2021), developed her side projects, and collaborated with artists such as Lawrence English and Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. The evening “Alternativa meets Heartnoize” will offer an encounter with an artist whose work has retained a unique, timeless character for more than two decades—at once crystalline and elusive.
